Job Position: Senior Programme Officer
Job Context
- Contract period: One Year
- Location: Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Department, NHQ, BDRCS
- Reportable to: BDRCS Costal DRR Project Manager,BDRCS
Job Description / Responsibility
- Work towards the achievement of goals in the National Society through effective managerial and lateral relations and teamwork.
- Ensure understanding the roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and account abilities.
- Perform other work-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor/team
- Support the operational and financial management of the coastal DRR project (funded by AmRC), ensuring the specific project objectives are met.
- Assist Project Manager/team for any requirement on the basis of the project.
- Guide and supervise APO/PO and the community organizers for better understanding of coastal DRR project.
- Coordinate, Supervise and monitor all coastal DRR project activities at the communities and units level.
- Frequently visit both the project units and plan/monitor activities to be implemented there.
- Support in implementing community PoA developed by the community based on Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment(VCA) exercise.
- Follow-up and continuous monitoring of the progress of community DRR actions.
- Supervise the APOs in organizing all planned trainings, awareness campaigns and dialogues as per requirements.
- Ensure project resources are used properly and immediately bring to the attention of the Project Manager/team in case of any misuse of wrong doing.
- Support ensuring the funds of the grant are used solely for the objectives and activities of the project.
- Ensure organizing monthly/bi-monthly/Quarterly project team coordination meetings and to share the meeting minutes.
- Support developing/capturing IEC Materials, case studies, stories, Most Significant Change, visibility, etc.
- Support ensuring maximum management and programming integration between BDRCS NHQ and Unit, AmRC and IFRC activities.
- Support ensuring all project files, records, archives and databases (documentation, meeting minutes, etc.) are kept in good order and updated when required.
- Compile reports from the field level, and submit project progress reports to the BDRCS Project Manager according to the donor requirements, formats and deadlines on first week of every month.
- Produce Quarterly project report in coordination with project team
- Check and verify all project bill, vouchers and forward to BDRCS financial department.
- Maintain close coordination with AmRC/IFRC counterpart/team.
- Initiate note for any change such as transfer in BDRCS HR structure, request for cash advance, organizing big event, etc in consultation with Line Manager
- Lateral relationships:
- Establish and ensure effective working relationships with members in the team AmRC/IFRC counterparts.
- Ensure effective working relationships with all BDRCS departments including support services at HQ and field levels.

- Experience to work with a humanitarian organization will be an added advantage
